Chocolate Chip Cookie and Pudding Dessert {Special Dessert}

I have already had two family reunions this summer and this dessert has made it to the table at each so far. I have one more to go so you pretty much know what I’m making for that one too.  Here is a dessert that will take no time and will take even less time at having the dish be empty.

Begin by breaking apart prepared chocolate chip cookie dough (or peanut butter cookie). By all means, if you’d like to make your own from scratch, do that.  I didn’t have the time or energy so I went to the next best thing..someone else making the dough for me.  You’ll then spread it evenly on a greased baking dish and bake at 350°F for about 15-20 minutes or until done.  When done, remove the cookie from the oven and allow for it to completely cool.

Once the cookie layer has completely cooled it’s time to make the next layer. This layer is cream cheese, confectioners sugar and whipped topping.  When thoroughly combined spoon and evenly distribute on top of cookie.

The third layer is the pudding.  Mix together a packet of chocolate and vanilla pudding and milk.  Pour and smooth over top of the cream cheese layer.

Finally add a whipped topping layer and you’re done..almost.

Top with mini chocolate chips, chocolate shavings or whatever you’d like.

Instructions
Layer One
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease a 9x13 baking dish and place raw chocolate chip cookie dough on the bottom. Carefully smoosh together dough until it completely covers the bottom of the dish. Once covered, baked in oven for about 15 minutes or until cookie is done.
  3. When done, remove from oven and allow for the cookie layer to completely cool.
Layer Two
  1. Mix together softened cream cheese and confections sugar with hand or stand mixer until thoroughly combined. Once combined, fold in whipped topping (a product like Cool Whip can be used here).
  2. Pour and smooth over top of the cooled cookie.
Layer Three
  1. To a bowl, add one package of chocolate pudding mix and vanilla pudding mix with the 3 cups of milk. Whisk together until the pudding thickens; about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Pour pudding on top of the cream cheese layer and smooth out.
Layer Four
  1. With a hand or stand mixer, whip together 1 1/2 cups of whipped topping. (Again, a product like Cool Whip can be used for this step)
  2. Pour over pudding mixture and smooth out. Top with mini chocolate chips or chocolate shavings.
  3. Refrigerated covered for at least 4 hours before serving.
