Instructions
  1. In a large measuring cup, add 1 cup milk and put in microwave for about 45 seconds to get warm. Remove from microwave and add yeast and 1 tsp sugar and stir well. Allow for the yeast to bloom in the mixture for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a stand mixing bowl, add in 4 cups flour, the rest of the sugar and salt. With dough hook, turn the mixer on low and stir well. Once the milk mixture has bloomed, leave the mixer on low speed and slowly add the mixture. Once it has started to combine, add in egg and oil. Once the ingredients are combined, turn the mixer up to medium low and allow to knead for about 5 minutes. The dough should be sticky but should be pulling away from the sides and bottom of the bowl. If this is not happening, add in more flour about 1 TBS at a time. When done, allow the dough to rest in the bowl for about 5 minutes while you make the filling.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  4. For the filling, add softened butter, brown sugar and cinnamon to a bowl and mix well with fork or spoon.
  5. Once dough has rested, roll in floured surface until this reaches around 18 x 20 in.
  6. With hands, add the cinnamon sugar mixture and spread over the dough and roll. With a serrated knife, cut each roll into 1 – 1 1/2 inch pieces and place on parchment paper on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 20-22 minutes.
  8. While baking, make the cream cheese frosting. Add all ingredients to stand mixer and mix completely for about 3 minutes.
  9. When you remove rolls from oven, let cool for about 3 minutes and then evenly distribute the frosting on top of the cinnamon rolls.
  10. Serve cinnamon rolls warm.
