Deep Dish Meatball and Mushroom Pizza

My husband and I had a great time in the kitchen making this deep dish meatball and mushroom pizza. I got a call from him in the morning asking me to make my pizza dough and then heading to the store for some basil. He’s making dinner? DONE!

Start by making the pizza dough.  When rested and done, roll out and place in deep dish pie pan.  Cut around the edges with a knife like a pie crust.  With a fork or pizza pitter and place in a 450°F oven for 8 minutes to par bake the dough.

While the crust is in the oven, add 8 meatballs (or more if you’d like), cut in half and 1 cup of pizza/pasta sauce to a pan and allow to heat up.

Remove crust from the oven and add toppings.

Add a bit more shredded cheese and do the final bake.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool for about 8-10 minutes so the contents set and it makes cutting into pieces so much easier.
